Lawn care controversy ensues after alarming surveillance video

Posted: Updated:
CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Surveillance video shows employees from Clean Cut Property Services dumping leaves back into a Cedar Rapids yard.

According to the homeowner, who wishes to remain anonymous, the incident happened after he emailed the company telling them he didn't want his leaves picked up.

He says the company told him his contract was clear and it included leaf pickup.

The homeowner says the contract was confusing.

Clean Cut Property Services sent us a statement today reading in part, "(The homeowner) was home when the employees were cleaning up leaves at his property. At anytime (the homeowner) could have stopped the guys from cleaning up the leaves."

They also say, "It is unfortunate (the homeowner) let our employees beautify his property while in the end refusing to pay for the services he received. We hope that the other lawn care companies will not fall victim to job theft as we have in this case."

Meanwhile the homeowner tells KWWL he had every intention of paying but the work was never complete.

He says after seeing the surveillance footage he told the company not to bother coming back.
