One person was injured in an accident involving a tractor and Jeep west of Epwoth on Old Highway Road.

The Dubuque County Sheriff's Office, Epworth Police Department and Epworth Fire Department responded to the accident around 11:38 a.m. Monday. The investigation revealed that Kaylie Kamp, 19, was eastbound on Old Highway Rd., traveling behind a farm tractor, which was being driven by 64-year-old John Kress. According to police, Kress gave a hand signal, indicating he was intending to turn the tractor left into a driveway. Kamp mistook the signal and attempted to pass the tractor as it was turning left, thus striking the tractor and causing it to roll over.

Kress was taken to Mercy Hospital in Dubuque, and then transferred to University of Iowa Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

Kamp was uninjured in the accident and was cited for Passing in a No Passing Zone.

The accident remains under investigation.
