IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Iowa freshman Jack Dreyer allowed just one run in a spot start as Iowa picked up an important 11-3 win over 17th ranked Oklahoma State to capture the weekend series. The series victory marked the third of the season over a ranked opponent.

The stingy performance was more than Iowa needed after another offensive explosion. The Hawkeyes scored 33 runs over the course of the weekend's three games.

They got it going right away in the first inning as Tyler Cropley rolled a base hit in to right scoring a pair of runs. That opened up a 4-run first frame. They added six more in a big seventh inning that started off with a bang. Sophomore Mitchell Boe roped a base hit in to center field where it hopped past Oklahoma State's Trevor Boone all the way to the wall allowing Boe to circle the diamond on a three base error.

As for his part, Dreyer went five innings and gave up just one run, two hits, and struck out six to pick up the win.

Iowa travels to Northwestern on Friday for the second to last Big Ten series of the season.
