People in Olin clean up after EF-0 tornado

Posted: Updated:

It was a nice day for cleanup after some not so nice weather in Olin last night.

The National Weather Service confirms an EF-0 tornado caused the damage.

A tree fell on a house along 2nd Street, crews worked to remove it.

Another home along 2nd Street had a shutter get blown off.

A tree also fell on a car in the area.

Locust Street was closed while city crews cleaned up a buckeye tree that fell in the street.

Across town a 150 pound fire hydrant was torn off the ground, moved several feet and found lying in the Zimmerman's yard.

"I noticed things in the back yard were tossed and when I come around the corner I seen our shed that was here up on the  porch," says Becky Zimmerman.

Her metal shed was lifted and moved 70 ft. across the yard narrowly missing her home.

"It could have been a lot worse. We could have lost our roof. A lot of damage could have been done but no I'm happy it stopped right there," she told us.

The National Weather Service estimates winds peaked at 75 miles and hour during the storm.
