A new study shows living close to a livestock farm could help prevent allergies.

Researchers conducted a study of nearly 2,500 adults.

They found people living two-tenths of a mile from any type of livestock farm were 27 percent less likely to be allergic to grass, dust mites or pet dander than those who lived further away.

The risk was even lower for adults living near pigs or cows.
