UPDATE: Cedar Rapids police believe a man who was shot while in his car Monday night was targeted.

Authorities say the 20-year-old was shot in the arm and then drove himself to the hospital without calling police.

Investigators believe there were three other people in the car with the wounded man, but they all fled from the hospital before police arrived.

The man who was shot has not been cooperative with investigators at this point.

The Cedar Rapids Police Department says a man who turned up at an area hospital with a gunshot wound says he was shot while inside a car.

Officers say they were dispatched to Mercy Hospital on Monday night around 8:20 p.m. for a report of a man suffering from a single gunshot wound. The unidentified man told police officers upon their arrival that he was show while inside a car in the 4100 block of 22nd Avenue Southwest. Officers did find shell casings in the area.

The man's injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, and officers say they're continuing to investigate the shooting tonight. No suspects are currently in custody.
