Kernels plan for doubleheaders

The Cedar Rapids Kernels announcement they are getting ready for baseball make-up doubleheaders set for June 5 and 6th 

Cedar Rapids, IA – The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Beloit Snappers will play doubleheaders on Tuesday, June 5th and Wednesday, June 6th with the doubleheader on June 6th scheduled for a day/night doubleheader.

These are make-up games from when the Kernels and Snappers were unable to play a three-game series in Beloit, April 17-19, due to snow and field conditions at Pohlman Field.

Both doubleheaders will consist of 7-inning games. On June 5th, the DH will start at 5:35 PM with the second game starting approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. Gates will open at 4:30 PM.

On June 6th, the day game will start at 12:05 PM with the gates opening at 11:00 AM. Following the conclusion of the day game, the stadium will be cleared, and the gates will open at 5:30 PM for the night game with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 PM.

Please note that the day/night doubleheader will be treated as two separate ticketed events. This means that if you have a ticket for the day game, it will NOT get you admission to the night game. Tickets for the 6:35 PM game are on sale now. A ticket for the regular DH on June 5th will get admission to both games.

Your Cedar Rapids Kernels begin a six-game home stand on Tuesday, May 1stwith games against the South Bend Cubs and West Michigan Whitecaps that runs through Sunday, May 6th.

Tickets may be purchased on-line at www.kernels.com, or by calling the Kernels Ticket Office at 896-7560. Ticket office hours are 10 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, and 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday.
