Posted: Updated:

A man is in the hospital after being pinned beneath a pickup.

Vinton Police tell us it happened this morning in the 100 block of W. 4th Street.

When first responders arrived, the 36-year-old man was pinned under a truck in front of LaGrange Pharmacy.

He was taken to a Cedar Rapids hospital once he was freed.

A female driver of a Buick was uninjured.

Police say the driver of the Buick was attempting to back out of a parking space, when she struck the parked pickup. She then allegedly pushed it on top of the man.

This investigation is still ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time.

The Vinton Police Department, Vinton Fire Department, North Benton Ambulance, and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office responded to this incident.
