Man shot in Iowa City

A man is injured after being shot in the groin.

Police say a man arrived at Mercy Hospital yesterday, saying someone pointed a handgun at him. When the victim pushed it away the gun discharged, striking the victim. A passerby drove him to the hospital.

The suspect was described as a man wearing a black face mask and black hoodie, approximately 5’ 4” and “heavy set.” 

Iowa City Police investigators have also given us the photos below.. They want to speak with the person who drove the victim to the hospital in the car.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 319-356-5276. 

Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information about this crime that leads to an arrest.
