Remembering Sergeant Greenlee

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

An eastern Iowa police officer is honored after dying over the weekend.

The funeral for Waterloo Police Sergeant Robert Greenlee III was held Friday morning with a formal processional with officers around the area.

During the last few months, Sergeant Greenlee worked with KWWL on a few stories regarding the department's new traffic hand-held camera to track speeding drivers.

According to Waterloo Police Chief Dan Trelka, there was nobody like him.

"We did whatever we could for the family. I wish we could have done more, but we really, really honored Bob today, and that was worth while," Chief Trelka said.

Sergeant Greenlee started at the Waterloo Police Department in 1994.

Right now, authorities are waiting for an autopsy to come back to learn why he died, but they don't believe foul play was involved.

Sergeant Greenlee's body was found in his home over the weekend.
