Update: Monday, April 23 (8:07 p.m.):

Maddie Poppe has been named to the Top 10 on American Idol.  The announcement was made towards the very beginning of Monday night's show.

An American Idol contestant from Clarksville is hoping to continue her winning streak. 

Many people here in Iowa are cheering on Maddie Poppe. She advanced to the top 14 on American Idol last Monday and performed a duet with Colbie Caillat. 

Poppe performed on last night's episode of American Idol. Now it's up to fans to help vote her to the next round. 

Fans will be able to vote for their favorite contestant through the American Idol app and by text.

Her mom says every person can vote 30 times: 10 through text message, 10 by downloading the American Idol app and 10 through abc.com.

If you would like to vote for her through a text message, you can text 10 to 21523

Voting ends at 8 a.m. this morning. 

Back in 2016, Poppe also auditioned for the 10th season of "The Voice."

The post says, "Thank you, Maddie Poppe, for joining us this morning and for your message about chasing those dreams and never giving up! Good luck on American Idol! The Huskies believe in you!"

The next singing sensation could be from eastern Iowa. 

Clarksville native Maddie Poppe just made the top 24 on American Idol. 

Yesterday, she performed with students at Lou Henry elementary in Waterloo.

She's been meeting with people all over eastern Iowa before she heads back to Hollywood to compete. 

The small-town singer also made it to the judges round on NBC's "The Voice."
