Cedar Valley Humane Society seeking teachers for animal adoptions

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

An eastern Iowa humane society that took in hundreds of animals in a case of animal neglect, is now hoping teachers will come in for animal adoptions.

The Cedar Valley Humane Society is putting on a Classroom Pet Adoption Special beginning this coming Monday, March 19. The organization's Facebook page says any interested teachers can bring in their school ID and school verification, and then will be able to adopt either a pair of guinea pigs or one rabbit at no cost.

The organization helped rescue hundreds of animals from a Vinton home earlier this year, and was later granted custody to nearly all of the animals taken from the home.
