Waukon woman faces child endangerment charges

Posted: Updated:

A 21-year old Waukon woman faces child endangerment and public intoxication charges.

Waukon Police report the women had passed on the stairway of an apartment, after allegedly leaving her two-year old son alone in an SUV outside the apartment.

Police arrested Paige Cota and transported her to the Allamakee County Jail.

A blood alcohol test on Ms. Cota came back registering .183, more than twice the legal BAC limit.

Waukon Officer Paul Wagner's criminal complaint says Cota had gone to the Waukon apartment, “to get drug information from the occupants,” claiming Cota said she knew they were dealing meth, cocaine, marijuana and other drugs.

Cota told police one of the occupants of the apartment had stabbed her the day before.
