For the first time in school history, the Cedar Falls boys basketball team is headed to the Class 4A state title game Friday night at Wells Fargo Arena.

The Tigers beat West Des Moines Valley, 67-58, Thursday night, to advance to the state championship game against Iowa City West. West advanced by beating Waukee.  Cedar Falls beat Iowa City West earlier this season.

A-J Green led all scorers with 25 points, as the Tigers let an 8-point half time lead slip away in the 3rd quarter.

Valley outscored CF 17-10 in that quarter to take a 45-44 lead.

But Logan Wolf got hot, scoring 7 of his 12 points in the 4th quarter.

Cedar Falls made free throws late and turned back Valley's challenge, 67-58.
