North Liberty plans for infrastructure improvements

Posted: Updated:
NORTH LIBERTY (KWWL) -

One small but quickly-growing community in eastern Iowa is preparing for another busy construction season.

Wednesday night, the town of North Liberty held an open house for people to learn about the upcoming infrastructure projects.

Many of the upgrades will be to roadways and trails, as a way to keep up with the population boom there.

That includes widening one of town's main roads, Highway 965, to five lanes.

"As a growing town, our roads need to see improvements. They need to be built to meet the needs of our growing town. We also know there's going to be some inconvenience to folks as those improvements are made so this is a chance to talk about those," North Liberty Communications Director, Nick Bergus, said.

More information about the upcoming projects can be found here.
