Fayette County CNA's accused of sexual relations with patients

Posted: Updated:

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office says Prairie View Management Facility contacted them on February, 21 about two court ordered patients who left the facility and could not be found. The patients were then listed as missing persons.

On February, 25, the Sheriff's Office learned that the two missing patients were seen with two female staff members who were Certified Nursing Assistants, licensed by the state.

After an investigation, police found evidence showing that Megan Marie Penny, age 26 of Clermont and Paige Lynn Johanningmeier, age 23 of Elgin had developed relationships with the patients.

Once the patients left the facility, their relationships with the CNA's became sexual.

Yesterday, both Penny and Johanningmeier were arrested and charged with sexual exploitation by a counselor, therapist or school employee, a class "D" felony. Both could face five years in prison and be required to register on the sex offender registry for 10 years if convicted.

The patients were found and taken to a hospital and returned to Prairie View for treatment.

Penny and Johanningmeier posted a $2,000.00 bond and were released later that day.
