TULSA (KWWL) -

Taylor Lujan and Drew Foster finished the job on finals night. UNI won two of their three championship matches to secure a second place finish at the Big 12 Wrestling Championships.

The Panthers Max Thomsen finished as the conference runner-up at 149 pounds. The sophomore fell 9-3 against Boo Lewallen of Oklahoma State who he had previously beaten during the regular season.

Lujan, meanwhile, got the train rolling at 174 pounds. After trading jabs with South Dakota State's David Kocher over two and a half periods, Lujan picked up the winning takedown with 30 seconds remaining and rode it out to the buzzer for a 6-3 win. The victory made the sophomore the first Big 12 champion in program history.

Minutes later, they had a second . Drew Foster controlled Northern Colorado's Dylan Gabel for three periods to win 5-1 at 184 pounds.

The two wins helped the Panthers edge out South Dakota State for the team runner-up spot. Host Oklahoma State ran away with the title.
