WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The Waterloo Black Hawks finally broke through and used a pair of third period goals to rally past Sioux City 2-1 on Tuesday night. The win put Waterloo in sole possession of second place in the USHL's Western Conference standings.

Sioux City's lone goal came on a power play, one-timer off the stick of Sampo Ranta midway through the first period.

After going scoreless for the first two periods, the Black Hawks finally broke through in the third. Solag Bakich fed Jackson Cates for his 28th goal of the season just 27 seconds in to tie the game 1-1. Less than three minutes later. Bobby Trivigno scored on the wrap-around to give Waterloo the eventual game winning goal.

The Black Hawks Jared Moe stopped 21 of 22 Sioux City shots on the night to pick up his 16th win of the season.
