Iowa State women's basketball team placed five student-athletes on the 2018 Academic All-Big 12 team. The Cyclones' Meredith Burkhall, Adriana Camber, Bridget Carleton, Claire Ricketts and Nia Washington were named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team.

Ricketts is making her third appearance on the Academic All-Big 12 team as a hospitality management major who has appeared in 20 games this season, starting twice. In the Cyclones most-recent game, Ricketts grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds and a career-high six blocks to help ISU topple TCU on the road. Carleton is making her second appearance on the First-Team as a kinesiology and health major. She currently leads the Cyclones with 18.4 points and 6.9 rebounds and is the only player this season to start in all of ISU's 25 games.

A trio of Cyclones made the team for the first time in their career, as Camber, Burkhall and Washington were honored for their work in the classroom. Camber is a business management major and has appeared in all 25 games for ISU this season and started in 20, while averaging 6.2 points and 3.9 boards per game. Burkhall is a junior child, adult and family services major averaging 6.5 points and 4.4 boards per game. She is also shooting a team-high 46.6 percent from the floor. Washington, a sophomore biology major, has appeared in 21 games for ISU this season averaging 1.2 points and 0.9 assists per contest.
