FAYETTE COUNTY (KWWL) -

Authorities in Fayette County say they've recovered property that was stolen from a rural Oelwein home with the help of social media.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office says they found $1,500 worth of stolen property during a search of a home in the 100 block of 2nd Avenue Southeast in Oelwein today. Roger Dean Hall II was charged in the case and now faces a third-degree burglary charge, on top of two other charges.

Officers say they executed the search after collecting evidence at the home that was burglarized along 45th Street on Monday, and through an anonymous tip sent to them through Facebook this week. All of the stolen property was recovered.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Oelwein Police Department in the investigation.

CORRECTION: A previous post stated the suspect was taken into custody in the case. The post has been corrected to state that the suspect is facing charges, and is not in custody.
