Waterloo bus driver cited for afternoon crash

Posted: Updated:

According to a Waterloo police report, there was an accident involving a Waterloo school bus yesterday afternoon.

The report says the accident happened around 3:47 p.m near Stratford and Maxwell. There were no major injuries, and the police report says all the children on the bus were transferred to a different school bus.

The school bus had to be towed because the passenger side bumper was rubbing against a tire.

According to the report, bus driver Sanela Fehratovic stopped at a stop sign on Stratford Avenue, going Eastbound. The bus driver then drove ahead, causing a car to hit the bus on the passenger side.

According to the report, the bus driver claims she stopped at the stop sign and checked the road, but she did not see the car before driving the bus into the intersection.

The bus driver was cited for the incident.
