Posted: Updated:

A special bank fund is being established for the Decorah area family whose two daughters died in a Winneshiek County car accident during Monday's snow storm.

17-year old Avery Arneson (Pictured) and her 13-year old sister, Aden Arneson, died in the crash, while their three brothers, Alex, James and Jack, were injured.

The driver of a pickup truck also involved in the crash was injured, and has been identified as Gage Dahlberg of Decorah. Dahlberg reportedly suffered minor injuries.

At last report, the Arneson brothers remained hospitalized at a hospital in La Crosse.

Funeral services for the sisters have not been announced, but, a friend of the family told KWWL News the Arneson Family Fund is being established at the Viking State Bank & Trust in Decorah.

Donations can be made at the bank or any of its branches to help the Arneson family pay for the funerals as they try to get through the tragedy.

The Iowa State Patrol says the crash happened Monday morning, just before 8 a.m.

Avery Arneson lost control of the car and it slid sideways across the center line into an oncoming pickup truck, driven by Gage Dahlberg.

The roads were slick and snowy at the time because of Monday's snow storm.

Both Avery and Aden Arneson died at the scene of the crash.

Again, donations to the Arneson Family fund can be make the the Viking State Bank & Trust in Decorah.

Donations can also be mailed to: Viking State Bank & Trust, P.O. Box 429, Decorah, IA   52101.
