Cedar Rapids police investigator runs 7 marathons in 7 days on 7 continents

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Cedar Rapids Police Investigator Sarah Lacina is working to complete the World Marathon Challenge.

The challenge includes running 7 marathons in 7 days on all 7 continents. 

Lacina started January 30th with a marathon in Antarctica. 

January 31st she completed a marathon in Cape Town, South Africa. 

February 1st she ran a marathon in Perth, Australia. 

February 2nd she ran a marathon in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. 

February 3rd she completed a marathon in Lisbon, Portugal.

February 4th she ran a marathon in Cartagena, Colombia. 

Today she plans to complete the World Marathon Challenge with a marathon in Miami, Florida bringing her back to the states. 

Cedar Rapids Public Safety Spokesperson Greg Buelow says the challenge has only been completed by about 50 people world wide. 

Lacina has proven her strength twice on the show Survivor. 

In 2014 she placed 11th on Survivor, she went on to win Survivor Game Changers in 2017 taking home the $1 Million prize.
