CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

A man was arrested today after evidence in previous crimes showed he took part in multiple robberies.

Police say Carlos Alejandro Gonzalez, 33, of Cedar Falls, was arrested for Second Degree Robbery (a class C felony) after he entered a Dollar Tree and demanded money while displaying a knife and mace on December 26, 2017. During the robbery Gonzalez assaulted both employees and left the store with an undisclosed amount of money. On this same date, a robbery occurred at Sally Beauty Supply in Waterloo, using the same method that was used in the Dollar Tree robbery.

Gonzalez was previously arrested on Tuesday for the Cedar Falls Kay Jewelers robbery that occurred on January 22, in which he again used a knife and mace. With evidence gathered in all three of these robberies, it was determined that Gonzalez was the person who committed the Dollar Tree robbery.

Gonzalez is being held in the Black Hawk County jail.
