A Coralville woman is arrested after allegedly abusing her 11-year-old autistic son.
33-year-old Joni Reed is facing two counts of endangerment, no injury, an aggravated misdemeanor; and child endangerment with bodily injury, a Class D felony.
Police say it happened in the 2600 block of Whispering Prairie Avenue in Iowa City Thursday night.
According to our coverage partners at the Iowa City Press-Citizen, the child had bruising on his forehead and scrapes on his arms.
The complaint also stated how Reed was "belligerent with police officers" and admitted to drinking.
Reed was booked at the Johnson County Jail on Thursday.
