MANHATTAN, Kan. (KWWL) -

UNI's sharp-shooters drained 16 three pointers as the Panthers survived a late scare to upset Kansas State 72-71 for a solid road win Thursday night.

The Panthers' Kennedy Kirkpatrick hit 7 of 10 from beyond the arc leading UNI (4-7) with 24 points. Two of those shots came in the pivotal final three minutes of the game.

The Wildcats (8-3) gave the Panthers a late scare, inbounding the ball under their own basket with 0.8 seconds left on the clock and trailing by one. UNI's Mikaela Morgan committed a foul on the play sending Kayla Goth to the line for a pair of free throws. The Panthers sealed the win after Goth missed on both attempts.

UNI has eight days off before hosting Loyola in the Missouri Valley Conference opener.
