Three arrested after chase, pistol-whipping at Cedar Rapids Walmart

Posted: Updated:

Three men are arrested after a chase, following a pistol-whipping at a Walmart parking lot.

It happened at the Walmart on 29th Avenue SW in Cedar Rapids. Police believe the victim and the suspect knew each other, and had some sort of previous argument.

When police located the suspect's car, three people took off inside it. They led police on a small chase, before all three ran from the car.

Police say they threw a handgun onto the playground of Harvest Christian Daycare Center at 4070 22nd Avenue SW.  Police say the daycare was on lock down, so no kids were outside at the time.

All three were later arrested.

Robert A. Sims is charged with Assault with a Weapon. Police say he is the one who hit someone in the head with a gun in the Walmart parking lot.

Delbert Antonio McNeil is facing multiple charges.

Kendale Jones is charged with Interference with Official Acts and Warrant for Robbery-2nd Degree.
