MARSHALLTOWN (KWWL) -

Update: Iowa State troopers confirm a man died in an early morning crash.

Troopers say Jorge Cervants, 32, of Marshalltown was wearing a seatbelt during the crash, but it did not save his life.

Authorities confirm he was driving a 2000 white Pontiac.

---------------------------------

Mark Puls says he was driving near Marshalltown on Highway 330 Sunday around 4 a.m., when the driver of a white car started drifting over the center line, and collided with him.A Gladbrook semi driver is all right after an early morning crash.

Puls says he hauls fuel, and fortunately his trailer was empty during the crash.

Mark says it seemed like the driver may have fallen asleep, because it didn't seem like they pressed on the brakes or over-corrected before the collision.

Mark said, "when the driver started drifting into my lane, I was saying, "no, no, no,' but then he hit me."

Puls says he even slowed down and tried driving on the shoulder to avoid the collision, but the driver still collided with him.

Puls says he thinks the driver died in the crash, and he believes the driver was male, but we're waiting to confirm that information from Iowa State troopers to learn the exact details.

Mark Puls sent photos of the vehicle, and it appears to be a late 1990's or early 2000-style white Pontiac that collided with his semi truck.
