Waukon whips New Hampton to advance to 2A State Semifinals

Posted: Updated:

In 2A a quarterfinal round matchup of two old rivals, Waukon and New Hampton.

The defenses would come out fired up. First New Hampton would stop the runner for no gain on 3rd down, forcing Waukon to punt.

Then the Indians would return the favor, sacking Keagan John for a loss of 4.

Waukon would get on the board first. Abraham Schwartz on the play fake, finds Evan Armstead for the 5 yard TD.

They would hold on to that momentum. Armstead would find the end zone again on a 1 yard run up the middle.

Then with time winding down in the half, Schwartz rolls out and decides to keep it. He dive for the end zone and just gets in. New Hampton up 21-0 at halftime.

Waukon advances beating New Hampton…34-13.
