Junior Achievement of eastern Iowa's Cedar Valley Business Hall of Fame honors community leaders, entrepreneurs

The 23nd annual Junior Achievement of eastern Iowa Cedar Valley Business Hall of Fame, presented by Great Western Bank, honored three business leaders and three young entrepreneurs today who exemplify business success and establish a legacy of leadership within their industries and communities. 

The event raised $72,000 with 241 attendees. All proceeds from the event will help fund Junior Achievement's career readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy programs for 2,325 students in the Cedar Valley.

The 2017 Honorees are listed below: 


David A. Braton - Bismark Tribune, formerly of the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Courier 

Mark J. Hanawalt - United Equipment Accessories, Inc. 

Daniel B Watters - US Banks 

Young Entrepreneurs

Adam C. Lewis - Spinutech 

Marc J. Reifenrath - Spinutech 

Cory W. Schmidt - Spinutech 

These distinguished business leaders were nominated by community members, and then selected by an independent committee.

These people have lived and working in eastern Iowa and have had an impact on their industry or organization. They have shown integrity as ethical business leaders, been committed to bettering their community as a whole, shown leadership qualities, which allow them to be exemplary role models, and carry an entrepreneurial spirit in starting or significantly advancing local businesses. This elite group of Iowa leaders were inducted at a black tie reception held in their honor.
