Copy-Gladbrook-Reinbeck beats Wapsie Valley 14-0 in Class A Playoffs

Posted: Updated:
A good matchup in the Class A playoffs. 4th ranked Wapsie Valley with a perfect 9-0 record meets 7th ranked Gladbrook-Reinbeck, the defending state champions. The Rebels enter the game at 8-1.

It would be a hard fought, defensive battle all night. Hunter Lott trying to pass, but he’s swarmed by a host of Warriors for a sack and a loss of 8.

That would set up the Warriors for a chance to score. The pass to the end zone is knocked away at the last minute by Keagan Giesking. The Warriors come up empty on the drive.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck would capitalize. Walker Thede takes the hand-off up the middle. He rumbles all the way to the 17 for a 24 yard gain. Then Hunter Loot fires to the end zone and finds Matt Johannsen for the first score of the game. The Rebels lead 6-0.

That would be all the scoring until the 4th quarter. Lott has the Rebels marching again. He connects with Keagan Giesking for the 14 yard gain. And that would set up Gage Murty. He fights his way through the line and into the end zone for a 3 yard TD. A 2 point conversion would make it 14-0.

And that would be the final score, as the Rebels advance with the big win.
