IOWA COUNTY (KWWL) -

A burglary attempt in eastern Iowa was eventually thwarted after an investigation recovered nearly all of the items that were originally stolen.

The Iowa County Sheriff's Office says the initial burglary happened at the Amana Society Farm's offices in High Amana early in the morning last Tuesday. Around $35,000 in tools and electronics were taken, including an Amana Farms pickup truck. Officers say the ensuing investigation took them to a location in Hiawatha, where a search warrant was carried out. Nearly all of the stolen items as well as the pickup truck were recovered, and criminal charges are now pending, according to sheriff's authorities.

The identities of any suspects involved have not been released at this time. The Cedar Rapids Police Department assisted in the investigation.
