AMES (KWWL) -

The Iowa State football team ended a 12 year drought when the new Associated Press rankings were released on Sunday. The Cyclones debuted at number 25 following Saturday's 31-13 win over Texas Tech. The last time ISU cracked the poll was on September 26, 2005.

Matt Campbell has led Iowa State to a 5-2 record, including one top five win after they shocked 3rd ranked Oklahoma two-weeks ago. The Cyclones win at Texas Tech this week was the team's fourth straight road victory marking the first time the program had accomplished that in 56 years.

Iowa State's ranking means a top 25 match-up is on deck when the Cyclones host fourth ranked TCU next weekend.
