CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Update: Cedar Rapids police are confirming a person was shot Saturday morning.

Authorities were called to 53 Dartmouth Street SW at 11:40 a.m. for gunshots.

When police went in the home, they noticed a person with a gunshot wound.

The person was taken to the hospital, but they should be all right.

Nearby neighbors say they weren't home at the time of the shooting, but came home to see a heavy police presence in their neighborhood.

Jessica Klinkkammer, who lives right across the street, says the shooting has her on edge.

"I have a 4-year-old and her bedroom is actually at the end of the house," said Klinkkammer. "So it;s nerve-wracking, because what if a bullet would have came through and I had her? But thank God, I didn't have her her. It's crazy."

Police have been asking neighbors in the area for any home surveillance video that might help them catch the suspect.
