West Hancock Eagles Soar into the Playoffs

Posted: Updated:

Nashua-Plainfield and West Hancock came into last night's contest tied for second place in the district race.  The plot was simple, the winner makes the playoffs aind the loser's season is over.  The Nashua-Plainfield Huskies came out firing on all cylinders...taking the opening possession at their own 20 and moving it right up the field against the Eagles of West Hancock.

Number 23, Tristen Brase, gets things started for the Huskies running 13-yards off the rights side. His teammate, Mason Hyde, would carry another 15 yards to the Eagles' 43-yard line. Levi Enright had his number called next. This catch and run took his Huskey team to the Eagle nine yard line, but after that the Huskies legs gave way after back to back sacks.

West Hancock's second possession came in the second quarter starting at their own 21.  The Eagles began to sore behind number 23 Tate Hagen.  He would carry the ball the majority of the time picking up several 10 yard gains along the way.  He would top off the drive with a two yard plunge for a touchdown putting the Eagles on top six zero after the two point conversion failed.

The Huskies would take over, but be forced to punt after only five plays.  MaCoy Yeakel of the Eagles would catch the ball off a bounce at the 5 yard line. He would dodge a couple of tackles and then find his second gear...putting on the jets and running 95-yards to the house.  West Hancock's two point conversion made it 14-0. It was 22-0 Eagles at the half and they would roll into the playoffs with a 42-6 win over the Huskies.
