Jym Ganahl comes out of retirement to join former competitor

Waterloo native, Jym Ganahl, was just a teenager when he joined KWWL-TV in 1966 as an on-air weather forecaster.

The popular on-air personality worked KWWL's 6 and 10 o'clock news and was heavily involved in community activities.

The Columbus High School graduate left KWWL in the late 1970's to join NBC affiliate WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio.

He would serve as WCMH Chief Meteorologist until his retirement in January of this year.

But, now, Jym Ganahl is back on the air at former Columbus Competitor, WSYX-TV as that station's noon meteorologist.
