WATERLOO (KWWL) -

A Waterloo man has pleaded guilty to illegally possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, and could now face 10 years in prison.

38-year-old Wayne Jones, II, entered the guilty plea this week in United States District Court in Cedar Rapids. During the plea hearing, Jones admitted that a 9 mm handgun, several rounds of hollow point ammunition, and several rounds of ammunition to a 20-gauge shotgun were seized from his apartment in Waterloo during a federal search. An indictment on Jones' charges say that search happened in April of this year.

Jones' brother Joseph was also arrested earlier this year and charged with conspiracy to provide materials to ISIS.

Jones admitted in court to a previous felony conviction, and could now face a $250,000 fine as well as three years of supervised release following any prison time. A sentencing date has not been set.
