Hundreds take part in the 11th annual Pink Ribbon Run in Cedar Falls

Posted: Updated:

Saturday's rain couldn't stop the spirits of more than 900 people who participated in the Pink Ribbon Run in Cedar Falls.

KWWL's Abby Turpin volunteered at the 11th annual event, serving as a street guide and also was the guest judge to pick the "most spirited" team.

"I had a great morning volunteering at the Pink Ribbon Run/Walk. So many smiling faces, all coming together for such a great cause," said Abby.

Breast cancer survivors gathered for a Survivor Photo right before the start of the race.  Over 140 survivors were there.

Participants in the race/walk also received a coupon card with discounts at numerous local businesses.

The Run was presented this year by Oakridge Realtors and the University of Iowa Community Credit Union. Survivor registrations were covered by Community Auto Group.

More information about the Pink Ribbon Run can be found here, along with updates as they prepare for the 12th annual event next year.
