Osage at New Hampton

Posted: Updated:

A critical showdown in Class 2A District 2. New Hampton plays host to Osage. Both New Hampton and Osage are in a 4 way tie for 2nd place in the district with 3-1 records. The winner stays in the playoff hunt while the loser is most likely eliminated.

The Chickasaws ground game would get rolling early. Braydon Fisher gets in the end zone on a 1 yard TD run. New Hampton up 6-0.

Osage could strike back through the air. Drew Olson scrambles to avoid defender…then he chucks it deep. Just over the defenders finger tips and into the arm of Hayden Meek for a 51 yard gain. Later in the drive, Olson finds the end zone on a 1 yard keeper to tie the game at 6.

But New Hampton’s ground game would prove to be the difference. Keagon John…better known as KJ…on the keeper. Spins out of one tackle on at 19 yard gain. Then it’s Fisher crossing the goal line again on a 3 yard run. New Hampton takes a 14-6 lead.

The Green Devils would try a little trickery. Gage Belz gets the ball, nearly loses it then throws deep. But it’s KJ that comes down with it for the Chickasaws. He takes it all the back to the Osage 36.

That would set up Braydon Fisher’s 3rd TD of the half, this one from 7 yards out. New Hampton led 20-6 at half time.

They go on to win…32-6.
