MARION (KWWL) -

UPDATE: We know know the name of a woman found dead in Marion yesterday.

Police are identifying her as Carrie Davis. She's originally from Columbus, Ohio.

Although the main suspect and the victim in this homicide share the same last name, police say they were not related or married.

Gregory Davis of Marion is charged with First Degree Murder after a woman's body was found in a home on Hillview Drive.

Court documents say the home in which the body was found was a vacant rental home owned by Davis' parents, and Davis was brought into custody after the body was found yesterday. Marion Police say he admitted to stabbing and killing the victim approximately four to five days ago at the home where the body was found, and then told police he "wrapped her body in blankets and carpet" in a trailer at the scene.

The victim was last seen on September 28, according to court documents. Her body had approximately eight stab wounds to her back when discovered by officers yesterday, along with other injuries. The victim has not been identified.
