UPDATE: Authorities release the names of two people killed in a crash.

Kaelonnie Moore, 22, of Cedar Rapids and Darla Moander, 43, of Cedar Rapids both died in a two-vehicle crash.

Authorities say they were called to Amana Road and Wright Brothers Boulevard at 11:26 p.m. Friday for a two-vehicle crash.

Authorities say Brianna Stastny, 22, of Cedar Rapids was driving south and tried passing another vehicle, when she collided with an oncoming car.

Brianna's vehicle came to a stop in the ditch, while the other vehicle was still in the road.

Brianna was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Moore and Moander were both pronounced dead on scene.


Two people are dead after a car accident in Linn County.

Just before 11:30 p.m., authorities responded to an accident on Amana Road and Wright Brothers Blvd.

Reports say a southbound vehicle on Amana Road driven by 22-year-old Brianna E. Stastny of Cedar Rapids was attempting to pass another vehicle when it struck a northbound vehicle head-on.  Brianna’s vehicle came to rest in the east ditch while the northbound vehicle remained on the roadway blocking traffic. 

Brianna was transported to the University of Iowa Hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.  The passenger in Brianna’s vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver and only occupant of the northbound vehicle was also pronounced dead at the scene. 

At this time the names of the deceased are being withheld until relatives are notified. 

The incident remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office. 


One person is dead after a car accident involving multiple cars in Linn County.

This happened around 11:30 p.m. Friday night.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office says Hwy 151 is shut down at Saint Patricks Rd.   Traffic will not be able to get through on Hwy 151 from Wright Brothers to Saint Patricks Rd north or south bound for now.
