This Weekend: Bloomsbury Farm corn maze design part of anti-bullying event

Posted: Updated:

Bloomsbury Farm in Atkins, Iowa invites everyone to join them as they kick-off the month of October, which is Bullying Prevention Awareness Month.  Anti-bullying is also the Farm's corn maze design for the 2017 agro-tourism season.

From 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, September 30, visitors can enjoy everything the farm has to offer.  This includes hayrack rides, jumping pillow, pig races, petting zoo, ball zone, barrel train rides, zip line, gift shop, concessions, homemade fudge, wine room, corn mazes, haunted houses and pick-your-own pumpkins, according to their website.

The Pointe Dance Team from Cedar Rapids will be doing a performance and are putting together a flash mob dance to go viral on social media for everyone to perform at the farm that day. Additionally, Cassie Willits of Vella Yoga and Roots Massage will lead a morning kindness and self-love yoga session, and a local artist, Lisa Barta, will be doing live "end bullying" canvas paintings.

General Admission is $12 per person age 3 and older, and children under the age of 3 are free. Bloomsbury Farm is donating a portion of the admission proceeds to Four Oaks in Cedar Rapids.  Four Oaks is an organization committed to helping children and families through their struggles.

Those attending are also asked to wear blue, which is the color of support for this important month.

Bloomsbury Farm is located at 3260 69th Street in Atkins.
