A eastern Iowa man feels relief after a woman is arrested for possibly killing his mother, 27 years ago. Yesterday Sheila Keen Warren was arrested and accused of shooting an killing another woman in Florida back in 1990.

Police say she was dressed as a clown at the time.

The victim, Marlene Warren lived in Wellington, Florida when she was murdered. Her son, Joe Ahrens currently lives Cedar Falls. Ahrens declined to speak KWWL, but a woman who answered the door at his home says he is relieved his mother's murderer has been caught. The woman also says this is a very emotional time for the family.

Shelia Warren was arrested in Washington County, Virginia yesterday, hundreds of miles from where she allegedly murdered Marlene, in Palm Beach County, Florida.

Marlene's neighbor says he remembers hearing something odd on the morning of May 26, 1990.

"I was walking my Labrador retriever across the street and I heard a sound," said Bill Kramer, neighbor. "In my mind it was a nail gun and I looked up and heard some commotion behind my house, my wife came out the back of the house and someone asked her to call 911."

Police say Shelia Warren walked up to Marlene's home dressed as a clown.

"The suspect or the arrested walked up to the front door with balloons in her hand and thee deceased, the victim, came to the front door and was shot at that location," said Sheriff Fred Newman, Washington County, Virginia.

Now, nearly three decades later police say they have caught the killer clown. Something Marlene's son, Ahrens confirmed on Facebook this week writing, "I got some good news today, they got the murderer that killed my mother 27 years ago."

Shelia Warren has been charged with the first degree murder with a fire arm of Marlene Warren.

Meantime investigators say they believe Marlene's husband later married the killer clown.

According to Ahrens' Facebook page, he owns a construction business. One post on the business' page offers 30 percent off because of the "good news" he received this week.

Authorities say this case remained unsolved until 2014 when it was reopened and more DNA analysis was conducted. Sheila Warren is currently being held at a southwest Virginia jail
