House damaged in Dubuque shooting

Posted: Updated:

A house sustained damage, but no one was injured when shots were fired in Dubuque early Wednesday morning.

Dubuque Police say they responded to a call on the 2100 block of Jackson Street just after 12:30 this morning.

A witness told police someone had shot the apartment she lives in multiple times.

Police say they found a number of shell casings just north of that apartment, as well as bullet damage on the northside of the building.  They also found bullet damage on some nearby fences.

A number of intact bullets were found inside that house as well.

Three people were home at the time, but none were injured.

Police believe this not a random act, but would not elaborate on why.

The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
