Louisiana restaurant stops televising NFL games because of protests

Posted: Updated:

A restaurant in southeast Louisiana is not televising NFL games due to players protesting, and kneeling, during the National Anthem.

The restaurant's co-owner says they won't show any games until the protests stop. He says the public seems to support the decision.

"My two partners are from El Salvador, the flag is a symbol to them for freedom and the opportunities that they have. When we spoke they were insistent we take this stance out of respect of those who served our country, out of respect of the nation, the flag, and all that it stands for."

A frozen yogurt shop across the street from the restaurant has publicly support the decision, even offering a discount.
