IOWA COUNTY (KWWL) -

Three teenagers are dead, and one person is recovering after a crash.

Authorities were called to 240th Street off G Avenue near Williamsburg in Iowa County on Friday for the crash, but they believe it happened sometime between late Thursday night and early Friday morning.

Iowa State troopers say 18-year-old Chad Owens was driving a pick-up truck east down 240th Street when he lost control and flipped into a creek. That crash killed three teenagers and hurt a 21-year-old woman.

The street is marked as a minimum maintenance road and is also labeled with the warning, "Enter at your own risk." Troopers say they think Owens lost control of the 1993 Chevy Pick-up he was driving and went into the water.

The fatal crash killed Owens and passengers Michael Galyon and Kaitlyn Cook, both 19 years old.

Authorities aren't reporting a lot of details about the crash or saying why they think the truck rolled.

Family and friends visited the crash site Sunday to try and find some answers.

State troopers says 21-year-old Anna Leigh Townsend survived the crash and was flown to Iowa City for treatment. At last check her family says she's doing all right.
