$5,000 reward offered in Cedar Rapids murder

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Cedar Rapids Police say a reward is being offered for information about a recent homicide.

On September 17, Kenneth Everett was shot at a home on 17th St. SE, and he ended up dying as a result.

Gabriel Thomas was also shot, she is expected to recover from the shooting.

Police say several shots were fired outside the home and bullets went through a window.

"Anyone with information about individuals or vehicles in the neighborhood, or who have heard information about who may be accountable for this homicide are encouraged to contact police, " says Police Chief Wayne German.

Linn County Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction; that reward money is being matched by an anonymous donor making for $5,000 total.
