Community helps owner move on after Aplington barn fire

Posted: Updated:
APLINGTON (KWWL) -

A community supports a barn owner after a fire destroyed it.

The fire happened in Aplington last month.

Central Iowa Exchange burned to the ground. It was a sale barn, known for hosting different auctions each month.

The owner of Central Iowa Exchange tells KWWL she's still trying to wrap her head around this.

She says the barn's been part of the community for over 85 years.

Now she plans to rebuild on the same spot.

She says Central Iowa Exchange is still doing auctions. They're having an Exotic Sale October 7th. The auction will be at the Butler County Fairgrounds in Allison.

There will also be a Tack and Horse auction on October 21st.
