Iowa's Butler to miss at least three games

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Iowa running back James Butler will miss at least three games according to head coach Kirk Ferentz. Butler, who transferred from Nevada during the off-season, suffered an injury during the third quarter of the Hawkeyes' win over North Texas on Saturday.

Ferentz made the revelation during his Sunday conversation posted on Hawkeyesports.com.

"For sure, I think James will be out through the bye week," Ferentz said. "It will be a couple weeks before we get him back. I think everybody else has an opportunity to be ready by midweek if not sooner. We'll know more in a day or two, but I feel optimistic right now."

Iowa's bye week comes in mid-October, followed by a road trip to Northwestern on October 21.

In three games at Iowa, the senior has run for 158 yards.
