New details into deadly Cedar Rapids shooting

UPDATE: Cedar Rapids Police say Gabriel Thomas and Kenneth Everett were shot while inside their bedroom Saturday night. Multiple shots were fired from outside the home. 

Thomas's injuries are considered non-life threatening.


Family says Gabriel Thomas and Kenneth Everett were shot in Cedar Rapids last night.

Everett has died, while family says Thomas is recovering at the hospital. Thomas's family says they haven't been able to see Thomas, but doctors tell them she is stable.


One person is dead after a shooting Saturday night.

Cedar Rapids police say they were called to 383 17th St. SE for a reported shooting a little after 8:20 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found two people with gunshot wounds. They were both taken to a nearby hospital. 

A male victim died from his injuries and the female victims is still in the hospital, but we do not know her condition at this time. 

Police do not believe this was a random shooting.
